Equipment you can trust!

When Falling at 120 MPH, from 13000 feet above the earth, you better have equipment you can trust!

The thrill that comes from jumping out of a perfectly good airplane from 13,000 feet above the earth is one of the most incredible thrills a person can ever experience in life. However, without the right working equipment, the thrill of freefalling can become the most horrifying and deadly experience a person can ever face. Once they have jumped out of the airplane there is no going back. Their equipment had better work, or they are in grave danger that
is irreversible.

When we die it is much like freefalling out of a perfectly good airplane. If we have the right equipment, equipment we can fully trust, the afterlife becomes the most thrilling experience a person can ever have. The Bible tells us that there are no human words that can express what amazing things God has prepared in heaven for those of us who have trusted in Jesus and put God first in our life (1 Cor. 2:9).

However, when we leave this life and freefall into eternity without the right parachute (Jesus), it can be a lot like leaving an airplane without a working parachute it will be a grave and horrifying experience that lasts for all eternity. After 100 Billion years, this horrifying experience will continue for another 100 Billion unimaginable years, and so on, and so on.

IT WILL NEVER EVER END!

So how do we avoid freefalling into this type of eternity? It is actually quite simple. The Word of God tells us, "The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living ... Don't participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don't let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires" (Romans 13:11-14). "Clothing" yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ is much like wearing a parachute when jumping out of an airplane. Just because a person believes a parachute can keep them safe when taking that leap of faith doesn't mean they will be kept safe. They have to use their parachute correctly in order to have a safe landing.

It is no different with our relationship to God. Simply believing in God will not keep us safe when we take a leap of faith into eternity. We show that our love for God and faith in Jesus are real by obeying God's Word (1 John 2:36).
