are you going to heaven?

You are probably a really nice person. Did you know that God doesn't evaluate our lives by how nice we are to others? Instead, He's given us a tool by which He evaluates our actions and life with, called the 10 Commandments. This is what God uses to expose our true inner-being, much like the way we use a mirror to expose our outer-being. Just as we wouldn't leave our house without looking as good as we could, we shouldn't leave this life we are living without making sure we are in good spiritual-condition with God.

Let's see how you are looking right now:

(1) Have you ever told a lie? (2) Have you ever taken something that doesn't belong to you? (3) Have you ever used God's name in vain? Did you know that Jesus says if you've ever lusted after someone you're guilty of committing adultery in your heart. If you're honest with yourself, you can see that in God's eyes you have not been able to live up to these perfect standards. The Word of God tells us we will be accountable before God for the mistakes we have made (James 2:10).

If you could go from "guilty" (which you are if you've failed to live a perfect life) to "not guilty," would that be good news? Jesus told us that God cares for you so much that He has provided a way for this to happen. Jesus said that if you confess your sins to God and turn from sinful living, God will forgive you (1 John 1:7-9), and if you begin living your life for Jesus Christ and obeying Him as Lord, you will be saved! (John 3:36) This is truly Good News! Jesus said, "Whom the Son of God sets free (from sin and Gods wrath) is free indeed" (John 8:36).
