Invite Cards

Image
Front of Card Back of Card These are The Church at Promenade's new Invite Cards.  These  were designed for our church to be able to give out to our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and just about anyone else who we may know that is in need of meeting our wonderful Savior. They are also great for leaving with your tip at restaurants, sending in with your cable bill, placing up on Coffee Shop community information boards, and wherever else you can think of. They are the size of business cards, and will easily fit inside of a wallet, or purse. Let's be a church that is proactive in inviting people to join us on this incredible journey of faith that God has us on. What a blessing it would be for us to see hundreds or even thousands of people in heaven with us one day, simply because we took the time to invite them to church! The invite cards are available each Sunday at our Welcome Table. Please be sure to ask our Welcome team for a stack of cards this Sunday! (And

Creating our church from scratch

This article was originally written to help assist church planters with some very basic ideas for some of the bells and whistles I used in church planting on a very low budget.  Had I known this article was going to receive so much traffic (which it has), I would have included some helpful exhortations for you, the church planter. After all, it is the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-12), the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), and pointing people to Jesus in all that we do that really matters most (Romans 1:16).  Because of this I have decided to add a "Top 10 List for Church Planters", that I believe will be vital to the incredible walk of faith that God has you on. I believe this addition to the lo-cost "bells and whistles" of Church Planting that I originally wrote this article about is far more important for you to have at your disposal as you continue to live radically for Jesus. Top 10 List for Church Planters: 1. JESUS LOVES YOU!  Jesu

The Mission of our Church

VISION of The Church at Promenade: We believe that the reason we exist as individuals and as a Church is ultimately to know Jesus and to make Jesus known to others. Therefore, the vision behind all that we do at The Church at Promenade points us, and others to this chief end. MISSION of The Church at Promenade: We have four core values that we believe will enable us to faithfully fulfill the VISION of our Church. We seek to produce people who WORSHIP God, CONNECT with other believers, SERVE the Body of Christ and REACH the world. Value 1 WORSHIP - This is how we express our love for God. By seeking to become people who pursue intimacy with God through WORSHIPPING Him with music, communing with Him in prayer, and growing in our understanding of His word through Sunday Sermons, mid-week Life Groups, and our own personal daily Bible reading and application. Value 2 CONNECT – This is how we express our love for other believers. By seeking to become peo

Cause of out of control Ear Hair

Image
Intensive studies have shown that ear hairs can grow uncontrollably if not treated. The study also showed that this is especially true for Christians. Scientists have discovered that when Christians do not read their bibles, they have a higher risk of growing uncontrollable ear hair. Some people believe that this was the real reason for Peter taking a sword and chopping off Malchus' ear (John 18:10). Peter got tired of looking at his ears, and was actually trying to trim Malchus' ear hairs down, but got to close with the sword and ended up chopping his entire ear off. Thankfully Jesus was there to put Malchus' ear back on (Luke 22:51). The point behind this is that we should be diligent to read God's Word each and every day, not only to protect us from having our ear hairs grow out of control, but to protect us from the Peters' of this world, who may try to trim them down for us.
