Structural Outline John 3:16-21 I. Introduction: a. This morning we are continuing on where we left off last week. We will be looking at John 3:16-21, in a message titled, “Rebirth”, where we find ourselves in the middle of a conversation between Jesus and a Pharisee named Nicodemus. Jesus is talking to Nicodemus about the importance of being born again, in order for him to get to heaven. b. In this conversation, Jesus is using “earthly things” (or illustrations) in order to help him understand the significance of being born again. c. In fact, LOOKING ON THE NEXT SLIDE: Jesus first uses the example of a mother giving birth to a baby in order to get across the point that there is an unmistakable, significant event that takes place in a person’s life when they put their trust in Jesus (3:3-7). d. ...
