Do All Roads Lead to God?

Yes it is true, All Roads Lead to God. There is not one person that could argue this fact. God's word tells us that ALL ROADS LEAD TO GOD. It says, "At the name of Jesus every knee will bow... and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" (Philippians 2:10-11). As you can see the Bible tells us that every person will one day kneel before God and then confess that He is Lord, but not all will get to go to heaven.

What is so interesting to think about is that there are many people who will read this and say, Jesus is not God, and therefore I will not bow down to him. However, that will not stop this inevitable event from taking place. You see, Jesus said He was God, and He was the only person to ever die for our sins, and then prove He was God by rising from the dead. Jesus told his followers in many places that He is God. He said to them, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). The Bible also tells us "in Him (Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9), which means that Jesus was fully God.

Therefore, because Jesus is God, and EVERY person who has ever lived will one day stand before Him, we must conclude that ALL ROADS DO LEAD TO GOD. However, just because all roads lead to God, it doesn't mean that all roads lead to heaven. Jesus stressed the fact that He is the ONLY WAY to meet God the Father on peaceful terms. Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6). This statement from Jesus reiterates the fact that even though all roads lead to God, only one road leads to heaven.

Often times Christians get accused of being narrow minded or judgmental, because they say that "their way" is the only way. However, it is not that Christians want to turn people off to God by saying and believing such things. The reason we say that "our way" (faith in Jesus) "is the only way", is because as Jesus' followers, we are commanded to tell people this. Jesus is the one that is narrow minded. Jesus said, "Those who come through me will be saved" (Jn 10:9), but without going to God through Jesus, we will be condemned (John 3:36).

It isn't that God wants to condemn us. In fact, that is the furthest thing from the truth. Jesus told us that it was because of God's Great Love for us all that Jesus came (Romans 5:8). He wants to save us, not condemn us.  Jesus tells us; "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world NOT TO JUDGE THE WORLD, BUT TO SAVE THE WORLD THROUGH HIM" (John 3:16-18).

Jesus tells us in the Gospels, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep ... Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved" (John 10:7-9). Jesus tells us that in order to get into heaven, He is the gate that heaven must be entered in through. The key that opens Jesus' gate is our unmovable faith in Him. Jesus died for us so that we might live for Him.

So now, here you are, left with the biggest decision of your life! What road are you going to trust? What road are you going to take? All roads will lead you to God, but only the road that follows Jesus will get you to heaven. It's time to make the right choice. Confess your sins to God, believe in His only Son Jesus, and begin following Him.
