Why Christmas is so Dangerous

This year there will be more than a billion people celebrating Christmas -- from unwrapping gifts to attending Candlelight services, singing Christmas carols and taking in the savory smell of cedar and incense. In addition, there have been credit cards pushed to the max, tempers flaring to the fullest amongst shoppers, road rage as we race to get the closest parking spot and the occasional “Merry Christmas” -- when it is safe for those who care to proclaim it. It is as if from the moment we are finished celebrating Thanksgiving on Thursday to the time Black Friday begins, some type of powerful, impatient, pushy, consumeristic monster overtakes the masses, up until the last department store closes on December 24 of every year. We then wake up Christmas morning with a new attitude, and are determined to experience the holiday glee, basking in the joy of giving and receivin

Please join us for a special time of worship this Sunday, Christmas morning at 9:15am.   We will be spending time singing Christmas Carol Worship songs, and looking at a special Christmas message as to why this day should bring us so much excitement.

The Perfect Storm

This message is from Mark 4, and is titled "The Perfect Storm", because the storm that Jesus and His disciples find themselves in, is a PERFECT storm to show us how Jesus is always with us during the difficult times in life. This storm is also a PERFECT way to show us how we are supposed to respond when we are going through difficulties.

Praise that Glorifies God

Image
There is no greater thing we can pursue in life, and receive such an amazing blessing and reward for, than pursuing God and loving Jesus! This morning in my alone time with God, the Lord was moving upon my heart and I hope that as you read this, you will be just as blessed and inspired as I was when He was speaking to me. In my alone time today I was reading through Psalm 50:23, and it says, " Whoever offers praise glorifies Me : and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God". I was thinking about how important it is for us to "offer praise" to God in our life so that we can bring Him glory. As  I was meditating upon this idea, I thought of 2 key areas in my life, and in your life where we can be purposeful about glorifying God by offering Him praise. 1. In the way we live our life each day for God's purposes and not our own. Jesus says, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify you
