tired of trying to fill the empty void?

Are you tired of having trouble filling that empty void inside your heart? If so, maybe you are reading this article because you are a person who is trying to find a way to fill that void, while at the same time, find your real purpose in life?

Let me ask you, are there times when you just know deep-down inside your heart that there is more to life than what you are currently experiencing? You know that you were created for something more that you should be living for? If this is you, I believe that this article can help you find the answers to why you feel this way, if you are willing to consider what is being presented.

I also want to assure you, that what is written in this article is not simply a theory to think upon, but an actual experience to be had for anyone and everyone who wholeheartedly commits to it’s prescription. So if you are ready and willing to not only make a change in your life, but also to experience a total transformation of heart and mind, that will enable you to be “the you” that God has created you to be, and “the you” that you want to be, let’s go on a journey together, because it is never too late to begin.

THE EMPTY VOID:
The reason you are feeling like there is an empty void that exists deep down inside in the depths of your soul, where the core of your being is, is because you have been created for a purpose in life, and right now you are quite possibly not living for that purpose.

The Bible tells us that God created you for a specific purpose in life.

"Bring all who claim Me as their God, for I have made them for My glory. It was I who created them" (Isaiah 43:7).

The fact that God says He created you for His glory means that your life is important and significant to God Himself! Think about that for a moment, don’t let this concept enter into one ear and travel out your other ear, without allowing it to move through your heart. You are significant and important to God!

However, when we are not living for the purpose that God has created us to live for, we feel incomplete and restless, never able to put our finger on why there is always something that seems to be “missing” in our lives.

The Bible tells us that the reason we feel like this is because God has made us for the primary purpose of having a relationship with Him, and that all other aspects of our lives are to flow out of our relationship with God, and His purpose for our lives.

When we are not making our relationship with God the most important part of our life, we will feel empty and alone inside. It is like we are an automobile driving through life with an empty gas tank. We have just enough gas in our tank to get us by on fumes, and to get us from point A to point B, but we never have our tank filled, and ultimately we feel an empty void deep within us. God is like our own personal gas station. He wants to fill our tanks so that everywhere we go, we can travel through life on a full tank with Him. When we choose God, He fills our empty hearts to overflowing, so that we are able to live life with a full tank.

What happens when we fill our gas tanks up? Our tanks are no longer running on empty! So too is this the case with our hearts. When we allow God to come in and fill us with His love, we will no longer feel like we have an empty void that needs filling.

In fact, the Bible says that the moment we place our unwavering hope in Jesus, He will not disappoint us, “Because the love of God will be poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit” (Romans 5:5). Meaning, when we get right with God by asking Jesus to be our Lord and Savior, He rewards us by giving us incredible “hope” in life, and He fills the empty void in our hearts and lives.

The way that God does this is by “POURING HIS LOVE” into our empty hearts, so that our hearts will be filled with hope and love! There is nothing in the entire world that gives us this kind of promise, and then backs it up by taking the void away!

However, when we ignore God and don’t allow Him to be first in our lives, we live life on empty fumes. Think about this; How has your life been so far without living for God? Have you gone from one thing to another in your life, hoping and praying and believing that it would possibly be the “THING” that fills the empty void in your heart? If that is you, you are just like I was, and just like most everyone else is, when they live life apart from God.

HOW DO I FILL THE EMPTY VOID?
So let’s get back to the opening question, are you tired of having an empty void inside of your heart? Have you grown weary from going from one thing to another, hoping that you would fill the emptiness that is inside of your heart?

If you are ready to become the person that God has created you to be, and to begin allowing God to fill your empty gas tank, and begin traveling through life with Him as your daily fuel for life, a fuel that never runs out, and always keeps you going strong. If this is where you are at in life right now, then I plead with you with all of my heart to give up doing life without God, and allow Him to fill your empty heart with His amazing love.

HOW TO BEGIN:
The Bible tells us, "For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26). How do we become a child of God? The Bible tells us the way we do this is through our faith in Jesus.

How do we express our faith in Jesus to God, so that we can begin a new and fulfilling relationship with Him? It is done through belief, and actions.

BELIEF:
The Bible says the first thing we must do to become a child of God is proclaim Jesus as our Lord, and believe wholeheartedly that He died on the cross and then resurrected from the dead.

The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved" (Romans 10:9-10).

Do you believe this? If so, you have to now act on your belief.

ACTION:
If we believe in Jesus, the Bible says that we will display our belief in Him and our love for Him by following Him. In other words, we will put our "BELIEFS" into "ACTION". Jesus tells us, "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish" (John 10:27-28).

Jesus says that His sheep (those who believe in Him), will follow Him. How do we follow Him? We follow Him by reading our Bibles and praying to God, and allowing God to now lead and direct our life. (Remember, we are trying to stop living life our way from here on out, because it doesn't work!)

REVIEW:
We begin a relationship with Jesus by believing that He died on cross for our sins, and then resurrected from the dead after 3 days.

Do you believe this? If so:
1. Ask God to forgive you for your sins, all of them, and tell Him that you are sorry that you have lived your life apart from Him.

2. Tell God that you believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins, and that you believe that Jesus resurrected from the dead.

3. Tell God that you want Jesus to save you and to come dwell in your heart, so that He can fill the empty void in your life.

4. Tell God that from this moment on your life is His, and you want to do things His way from now on.

If you do this, the Bible says the Lord will not turn you away, but will accept you as His own. “To all who believe in Jesus and accepts Him as their Savior, God gives them the right to become children of God. They are reborn!” (John 1:12-13a). The Bible says that when we receive Jesus as our Savior, “We become new creations, and all of the old and bad stuff from our past (our sins, or mistakes, our failures, all of it) goes away and everything becomes new” in God’s eyes (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Doesn’t that sound great? God first receives you as His own, and then He gives you a “do-over” in life? Not only do you get a “do-over”, but He also fills that empty void that is in your heart. What a great deal!
