What are you sowing into right now?

One of the most important concepts we looked at this past Sunday has to deal with the idea of sowing and reaping into the things of God at the devotional level.

When you are alone and have the opportunity to sow into the things of the Spirit, are you pursuing God, or are you sowing into your carnal nature? For the person who sows into the things of the Spirit, by passionately pursuing Jesus through prayer, Bible study, and meditation upon God’s Word, they will reap the rewards by continuing to grow into spiritually mature believers (Read Matthew 6:33).

For the person who tries to take a shortcut in their spiritual growth, by ignoring spiritual disciplines and their daily devotional time, they will naturally be sowing into the flesh by default.

Read 2 Corinthians 13:12, and meditate upon what it means to have the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God (the Father), and communion of the Holy Spirit be with you. In this verse, communion with the Holy Spirit conveys the idea of “partaking” with the Holy Spirit.

How can we have communion (or a meaningful time of fellowship) with the Holy Spirit on a regular basis? I would argue that if we were to have a meaningful time of fellowship with the Holy Spirit each day, we would experience the love and grace of God in a very profound way, and the fruit of this in our spiritual life would be manifested to all who know us.

I want to encourage you to sow into the things of the Spirit, so that your life will clearly be reaping the spiritual benefits from that investment.
